Bring Your Group to the Museum

Picture1

Just some of the positive feedback we have received from teachers last term

‘Fantastic Roman workshop. It was great to see and handle some real artefacts’

‘A brilliant workshop, thoroughly enjoyed by the children and teachers’

‘The children loved it! Very interesting and informative. The children learnt a lot and really enjoyed the activity’ (Brunel and Bridge-building)

‘Absolutely fantastic knowledge, delivery of content and interactivity. My expectations were exceeded’ (World War II)

Bring your group to the museum!

We welcome groups of all ages at the museum, and are happy to open on weekday evenings for group visits.

ADULT GROUPS   We will tailor your visit to your group’s special interests, including a talk if desired and offering light refreshments.  In the summer months, why not consider combining a visit to the museum with a trip on the river for lunch or tea on a French Brothers steamer while you cruise up Cliveden Reach and down Millionaires Row to Bray?   Another idea is to combine a visit here with a visit to another nearby attraction.  Note: maximum group size 30.  Please contact us for further information.

CUBS AND BROWNIES  For early evening visits by Cubs and Beavers we have special activities based on aspects of Maidenhead history.  Feedback from leaders shows that the youngsters really enjoyed their visits.

SCHOOLS   We can offer sessions on the Romans, Brunel and the Victorians, and World War II.  Please contact us for further information and to plan your school’s visit.

AIR CADETS  Visit the ATA exhibition, fly the Spitfire simulator, take part in a navigation exercise using genuine wartime maps and navigation equipment. It wasn’t so easy in the days before SATNAV!

Please contact us for availability and prices via email info@maidenheadheritage.org.uk

General visits – there is plenty to see at the museum, from a Roman skeleton to a Spitfire Simulator and a series of changing exhibitions. Click here to see what’s on at the moment.
Spitfire Simulator – your group will LOVE flying our state of the art Spitfire Simulator as they learn about life as a wartime pilot (ages 8+)
Local Knowledge – learn about local coats of arms and Brunel’s incredible railway bridge

We are very happy to take requests for other activities!
