Children’s workshop February 2020 with local artist Kirsty Brooks

This is a lovely friendly museum that is packed with information about the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA). We visited with 2 children (aged 8 and 10) following a school project and it totally brought it to life. The big highlight was flying the spitfire simulator with a very patient tutor helping throughout. Loads of information to digest and cleverly pitched to entertain for all ages. Thoroughly recommended!

Amazing to see our Father’s name on the ATA list.

It was a pleasure meeting the staff at the Heritage Centre – they made our visit so enjoyable! The Spitfire Simulator was a great experience – definitely one to be recommended. We look forward to our next visit!

Excellent exhibition, very informative talk. Enjoyed the visit.

Good workshop making heraldic shields. Great fun.

Had heard about the Spitfire sim experiance in Australia. Made sure visiting the museum was on my to do list when in the UK. Having flown Cliffs of Dover, a WW2 Battle of Britain simulation for 2 years, I was very keen to jump in the simpit. And it did not disappoint. Being able to sit in a cockpit, use the very realistic controls was just brilliant. I thoroughly recommend this experiance to all those interested in aviation. And while you are there, you will learn a lot about the ATA’s outstanding contribution to the local war effort.

Didn’t realise there was so much history in Maidenhead. Really interesting!

A beautifully curated and interesting museum. So pleased the ATA are still being honoured and remembered.

The best experience I’ve ever had !!!!! 100% amazing. [MHC: Steady on…]

I write to convey my heartfelt thanks following my visit earlier this month. It was a great pleasure to explore your collection and enjoy such engaging conversations with your staff, who were most friendly and welcoming as well as full of insights.
