The 101-yr old GWK car built in Maidenhead has come home – to Maidenhead Heritage Centre, where it is attracting a great deal of interest. It will be on display throughout the summer, except for special days when it will be displayed at outdoor events such as the Maidenhead Festival. Built in 1921 and first registered in July of that year, the car has a Coventry Simplex engine of 1344cc and is still in running order. We intend to keep it that way and would encourage you to make a donation towards its upkeep when you come to admire it andits unique friction drive transmission system.
